DESIGN

JFJ remains on the leading edge of physical security design solutions by providing a blend of services that includes product development, design, and application (both specifying and installing products into project settings).

TESTING

The engineers of JFJ routinely incorporate their physical testing experience of security-related products into specific project applications. During the last 10 years, the engineers of JFJ have assisted product vendors in the development and physical testing.

INTERTEX, PATRIOT BARRIER

The engineers of JFJ conceptualized the deisgn of this K12 active vehicle barrier system, performed the engineering analysis and coordinated the physical testing at KARCO Engineering in Adelanto, CA. The vehicle barrier successfully achieved a K12 rating. Mr. Kenneth Best is a patent holder for this barrier system.

AUTOGATE, THE SHIELD

The engineers of JFJ worked with this product vendor to develop an anti-ram version of their popular vertical pivot lift gate. Finite element analysis was used to design the system prior to physical crash testing at the Transportation Research Center in Ohio. The vehicle barrier successfully achieved a K12 rating.

DELTA SCIENTIFIC, DSC 501

The engineers of JFJ acting on behalf of Naval Facilities Engineering Comman, EFA Chesapeake, worked with the engineers at Delta Scientific in a peer review capacty to develop this shallow-mount active wedge barrier. The DSC 501 set the industry standard for shallow mount vehicle barrier systems. The engineers of JFJ participated in the physical testing at KARCO Engineering in Adelanto, CA. The vehicle barrier successfully achieved a K12 and K54 rating.

RSA Protective Technologies, K4 Bollards

the engineers of JFJ worked with this vendor to develop the industry’s first shallow-mount passive bollard system.  The initial design of this system included an installed depth of 14-inches and achieved a physical rating of K4. The system was later refined to minimize the installed depth to just 6.5-inches.  The systems were physically tested at The Pennsylvania State University and KARCO Engineering, respectively.

RSA Protective Technologies, K8 Bollards

The engineers of JFJ worked with this vendor to enhance the development of the K4 shallow-mount bollard systems by increasing the physical rating.  The initial design of this system included an installed depth of 12-inches and achieved a physical rating of K8. The system was later refined to minimize the installed depth to just 6.5-inches.  The systems were both physically tested at KARCO Engineering.

Boeing, Cable Fence Barrier

The engineers of JFJ, working on behalf of Long Fence, developed a cable barrier system for incorporation into their standard chain link fence system.  This project requirement was in response to a contract with the Department of Homeland Security for segments of the U.S./Mexico border control initiative.  This passive vehicle barrier was designed and successfully tested for a 10,000-lb threat vehicle with a 40-mph impact speed. The physical testing was performed at Texas Transportation Institute.

Corrugated Metals, The Metalith

The engineers of JFJ worked with this product vendor to perform an anti-ram test of their blast mitigation wall system.  The wall system, which incorporates metal wall panels and earth fill, was successfully tested physically tested for both a K12 and K50 rating.
